After what has been an incredible first year getting to know the Substack platform, I am beyond overwhelmed to have received so much genuine support and encouragement from all those who have taken the time to connect.
Hitting 500+ subscribers has been a huge gift for me this Christmas! Exploring the different aspects of my work here has offered me the opportunity for great insight into my creative practice, adding a dynamic that I couldn’t have discovered alone. I’m grateful for the valuable exchanges and proud of the relationship that I have built with a community that I cherish.
So I want to end this year and prepare for the next by extending a huge, deep, warm-hearted THANK YOU to all those who have contributed their time and energy into reading my posts, listening to my sounds and sharing their insights since Sonic Tapestries launched this time last year!
In an age swarmed by constant noise, it’s a touching privilege to be heard…
A seamless soundscape of atmospheres. Nature, humans, spirits & spaces…
And now — I’d like to introduce you to a new chapter in the journey…
One that connects back to the my humble beginnings as just another radio show broadcast on the seldom frequented airwaves of a student campus radio on the outskirts of London…
Ever since I first sat in that wonky, worn out studio chair — timidly narrating my tracklists into the microphone, playing out the music that meant so much to me; I knew that radio was a form of expression that would provide a profound creative outlet with which to shape my future craft. Perhaps most importantly, I understood that this formed a path for connecting me to the creative world I yearned to be a part of.
Curating my own radio show introduced me to a vast network of inspiring artists, projects and labels, and as I watched my listenership grow, so too grew my knowledge, enhancing the quality, dedication and reputation of my playlists.
I’ve been fortunate to have been supported by some great residencies along the way —Resonance FM first adopted me on their Extra platform which was more than just an online radio station. I learned from a great library of shows, the culture of which influenced and helped shape the show to become what it is today. Partnerships with CAMP Radio and Threads followed, with each residency helping me significantly in developing my craft, my curation and my curiosity.
And so, back to the now, as we drift gently into 2025, a new collaboration begins, with a new space to tune in to Sonic Tapestries...
ROVR Radio
“music-only playlists, no talk, no adverts or interruptions, no algorithms…”
ROVR is a new platform bringing together some of the most exciting and engaging curators from across the globe — deep diggers and serious collectors, djs, labels and record stores collectively constituting a world-class supply chain in terms of amazing and unique musical content.
Centred around a 24/7 online radio broadcast, ROVR promotes music-only playlists, no talk, no adverts or interruptions, no algorithms and no on-demand, with each track thoughtfully handpicked by one of their selectors. All accessible anytime via the web player or through the ROVR app.
This new direction for Sonic Tapestries will shed a light on the soundscapes, field recordings and artists that have inspired me along the way.
The first episode in this new series will be airing this weekend on Sunday 29th December at 06:00 CET/PST
Perfect for early risers and late settlers — a seamless soundscape of atmospheres. Nature, humans, spirits & spaces intertwined through hypnotic sounds, transcendental rhythms and oneiric oscillations.
If you can’t wait until then, or just want a taster of my previous transmissions, I invite you yo take a deep dive into the archive here

I want to also take a moment to talk about a new feature of Sonic Tapestries that will be affecting subscriptions from January 1st 2025.
Subscriptions in 2025
Sonic Tapestries will remain subscription free for all newcomers, with no obligation to upgrade to a paid subscription. I want to keep growing Sonic Tapestries, and essential to this is offering everyone to access my archive. I’m not precious about safeguarding content and respect those who wish to paywall their work, but that will never be the case with Sonic Tapestries. I want my audience to know all that they wish to know about me and my work. A free subscription still gives you access to all historic and future posts on this platform.
Vinyl prize draw for monthly subscribers!!
As of January 1st 2025, I’ll be launching a paid subscription tier for those wishing to support Sonic Tapestries further. There is one price — which works out to about €/£/$5 a month — which will safeguard you a spot in the exclusive monthly prize draw* for a physical vinyl copy of my selected album of the month!!
*The draw will be made on the 1st of each month, with the winner contacted directly to arrange delivery
I believe deeply in the importance of sharing sounds, and I wanted to integrate this into a model that fairly reflects this belief away from just driving subscriptions and streams. Giving back to you the subscriber a little gift for your faith in me. Each month a vinyl release will be up for grabs that has featured on the previous month’s Sonic Tapestries ROVR playlist.
