ALBUM OF THE MONTH : Jan Jelinek - Kosmischer Pitch
Trance-inducing repetitions hovering on the threshold of audibility
“I don't see my music as cold and mechanical. I always try to reach a result which is as organic and warm as possible. That's what I miss in a lot of electronic music. As it starts with electronics, there was always this connotation with machines, industrial production, industrial buildings. I was never into that at all. I'm sure that machines can create intimacy. This is what I am working for… deconstructing the image of machine-music.”
— Jan Jelinek via Tiny Mix Tapes
Beginning this year with a new feature — January sees the first ever issue of my Album of the Month series.
Jan Jelinek’s reissued masterpiece Kosmischer Pitch
Originally released digitally on the now defunct ~scape label in 2005, the album has been lovingly and delicately remastered by the incredibly talented Giuseppe Ielasi, finessing the unique sound worlds crafted by Jan at g.guillaume studio in Berlin.
For each of my paid subscribers, you will be entered into the prize draw to WIN AN EXCLUSIVE VINYL COPY of the album!!!
The draw will be made on the 1st of February with the winner to be contacted directly by myself the same day!
You can upgrade to a paid subscription with a 50% discount — that’s just €2.50 a month — the same price as a fairly reasonable coffee, a pineapple, a glass of house French wine in a local brasserie or a bus ticket…
GOOD LUCK!!! 🍀
